Werner Brace Flips Thriller as San Jose Stuns St. Louis City 3–2
Timo Werner struck twice, including an 83rd-minute winner, as San Jose Earthquakes edged St. Louis City 3–2 in a dramatic MLS regular-season contest on matchday 10.
The visitors started sharply and were in front inside eight minutes. Preston Judd finished off an early San Jose move, guiding home after a pass from Nick Fernandez to give the Earthquakes a 1–0 lead.
San Jose were forced into an early change on 24 minutes when Earl Edwards Jr. made way for Daniel in goal, but they reached the break still ahead. The game turned after half-time as St. Louis came out transformed.

Both coaches turned to their benches late on, with St. Louis introducing Brendan McSorley, Cedric Teuchert, Eduard Löwen and Rafael Santos in search of an equaliser, but San Jose held firm for a valuable away win.
