Orlando City Stuns Inter Miami With 4–3 Comeback Thriller
Orlando City SC produced a remarkable comeback to defeat Internacional CF Miami 4–3 in a wild MLS regular-season clash on Matchday 11, overturning a three-goal deficit capped by a stoppage-time winner from Tyrese Spicer.
Miami appeared to be cruising after a devastating first-half spell. Ian Fray opened the scoring in the 4th minute, finishing from a Telasco Segovia assist to give the hosts an early 1–0 lead. Segovia then doubled the advantage on 25 minutes, this time set up by Lionel Messi.
The home side seemed in complete control when Messi made it 3–0 in the 33rd minute, combining with long-time strike partner Luis Suárez for a typically incisive move. But Orlando City found a lifeline before the break when Martín Ojeda struck in the 39th minute, assisted by Justin Ellis, cutting the deficit to 3–1.
Orlando carried that momentum into the second half. Ojeda struck again in the 68th minute after good work from Adrián Marín to bring the score to 3–2, and he completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot in the 78th minute to level the match at 3–3.
As Miami pushed to reclaim the lead, Orlando found the decisive moment deep into stoppage time. In the 90+3rd minute, substitute Tyrese Spicer finished a move created by Braian Ojeda to make it 4–3 and complete one of the most dramatic turnarounds of the MLS season so far.
The match was heated at times, with multiple yellow cards shown to both sides, including bookings for Orlando’s Robin Jansson and Adrián Marín, and Miami’s goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair and Lionel Messi. Both coaches turned to their benches, with Spicer’s introduction at half-time proving decisive.
