López Cancels Out Rollheiser as Palmeiras and Santos Share the Points

SE Palmeiras and Santos FC played out a 1–1 draw in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A on Matchday 14, as a goal in each half ensured the points were shared.

The visitors struck first in the 26th minute. Santos forward Benjamín Rollheiser found the breakthrough, putting his side 1–0 up and briefly silencing the home crowd. His finish gave Santos an early advantage and shaped the pattern of the first half, with Palmeiras forced to chase the game.

Palmeiras responded after the interval, helped by a series of changes from the bench. Allan was introduced for Khellven at half-time, followed by Ramón Sosa replacing Lucas Evangelista on the hour mark as the hosts sought more dynamism.

The pressure told in the 64th minute. José Manuel López levelled the match for Palmeiras, making it 1–1. The striker finished off a move created by Andreas Pereira, who provided the assist to bring the hosts back on terms.

Both coaches continued to adjust their teams. Palmeiras brought on Paulinho and Luis Pacheco in the 74th minute and later Emiliano Martínez, while Santos responded with Willian Arão, Moises, Rony, Mateus Caucaia and Zé Rafael from the bench as they tried to regain control.

Discipline was largely controlled, with just two yellow cards shown: Santos goalkeeper Gabriel Brazão was booked in the 32nd minute, and Palmeiras substitute Luis Pacheco received a caution in the 90th minute.

No further goals arrived after López’s equaliser, leaving both sides to settle for a point. Beyond the goals, cards and substitutions provided, detailed match statistics and additional events were not available at the time of writing.
