Yeboah Brace Sparks Stunning Minnesota United Comeback at Columbus

Minnesota United FC produced a dramatic second-half comeback to defeat Columbus Crew SC 3–2 in MLS regular-season action on matchday 11, overturning a 2–0 deficit in a frantic 15-minute spell.

Columbus looked firmly in control by the 56th minute. The hosts struck first on 31 minutes when Taha Habroune finished a move set up by Max Arfsten, who had already gone into the referee’s book early on with a 12th-minute yellow card. Hugo Picard then doubled the advantage shortly after the break, finding the net in the 56th minute to make it 2–0.

That cushion evaporated quickly as Minnesota mounted a ruthless response. Kelvin Yeboah halved the deficit in the 59th minute, converting after good work from Anthony Markanich. Seven minutes later, Yeboah struck again, this time assisted by Joaquín Pereyra, to level the match at 2–2 and swing the momentum firmly toward the visitors.

The turnaround was complete in the 74th minute. Markanich, already on the scoresheet as a provider, grabbed the decisive goal with Nectarios Triantis supplying the assist, putting Minnesota ahead 3–2. Triantis was substituted a minute later in a tactical reshuffle, with Wil Trapp entering alongside Michael Boxall as Minnesota sought to close out the result.

Columbus introduced fresh legs through the second half, including Yevgen Cheberko at halftime and later Sekou Bangoura, Nəriman Axundzadə, Mohamed Farsi and Chase Adams, but could not find a late equaliser. Rudy Camacho picked up a yellow card for the hosts on 72 minutes, while Kyle Duncan and Jefferson Díaz were booked for Minnesota.
