Norwich City produced a ruthless second-half display to defeat Bristol City 4–2 on matchday 43 of the Championship, powered by a stunning hat-trick from Mohamed Toure.
The hosts made a dream start, taking the lead inside two minutes. Sam Morsy struck early for Bristol City, finishing after being set up by Cameron Pring to put the home side 1–0 up. That advantage held through the first half, with no further scoring recorded before the interval in the available data.
After the break, Norwich turned the game on its head. Toure levelled the contest in the 51st minute, converting from a pass by Kenny McLean. The forward then struck again on 70 minutes, this time assisted by Oscar Schwartau, to give the visitors their first lead at 2–1.
Norwich’s momentum only grew. Toure completed his hat-trick in the 75th minute, finishing after good work from Edmond-Paris Maghoma to make it 3–1. Just three minutes later, José Cordoba added a fourth, meeting another McLean assist in the 78th minute to put the result seemingly beyond doubt at 4–1.
Bristol City made a triple substitution on 65 minutes in an attempt to shift the momentum, introducing Delano Burgzorg, Sam Bell and Tomi Horvat. The changes eventually yielded a late consolation: Bell scored in the third minute of stoppage time (90+3), assisted by Burgzorg, trimming the deficit to 4–2.
Toure also picked up a yellow card in the 54th minute, while McLean was booked on 72 minutes for Norwich. Several late substitutions from both sides followed as the visitors saw out the victory.
