Holstein Kiel strengthened their 2. Bundesliga campaign with a hard-fought 1–0 victory away to Hertha BSC on Matchday 31, decided by a second-half goal from substitute Jonas Therkelsen.

The forward finished a move created by Phil Harres, who provided the assist, to give the visitors a 1–0 lead that would ultimately prove decisive.
