US Lecce earned an important 2–1 win away to AC Pisa 1909 on Friday night, with Walid Cheddira scoring the decisive goal in a tightly contested Serie A matchday 35 encounter.

After a goalless first half, the game sparked into life shortly after the interval. Lecce broke the deadlock in the 52nd minute when Lameck Banda found the net, finishing off a move created by Cheddira, who supplied the assist to put the visitors 1–0 ahead.

Pisa responded quickly and were level just four minutes later. In the 56th minute, Mehdi Leris struck for the hosts, making it 1–1 and briefly shifting the momentum in favour of the newly promoted side.

Lecce, however, restored their advantage in the 65th minute. This time Cheddira turned scorer, converting after being set up by Santiago Pierotti to make it 2–1. The forward was booked a minute later, reflecting the growing intensity as Pisa chased another equaliser.
