Palmer Strikes Late as Luton Edge Barnsley in League One Clash

Luton Town FC earned a hard-fought 2–1 victory over Barnsley FC on matchday 45 of the League One season, with a late goal from Kasey Palmer proving decisive.

The hosts made a sharp start and were rewarded on 16 minutes when Nahki Wells converted from the penalty spot to give Luton a 1–0 lead. The forward held his nerve to open the scoring and put the home side in control.

Barnsley responded well and found an equaliser in the 26th minute. Adam Phillips struck to make it 1–1, pulling the visitors level and setting up a competitive contest for the remainder of the first half.

The game grew increasingly feisty around the interval, with Barnsley’s Corey O’Keeffe and Joshua Earl both booked in first-half stoppage time. After the restart, Luca Connell also saw yellow for the visitors, while Liam Walsh was booked for Luton on 55 minutes. Instead, it was Luton who found the breakthrough. In the 79th minute, Kasey Palmer struck what proved to be the winner, finishing a move created by Mads Juel Andersen to restore the home side’s advantage at 2–1.
