Kade Brace Fires Augsburg to Crucial Bundesliga Win at Bremen

FC Augsburg boosted their Bundesliga prospects with a 3–1 win away to SV Werder Bremen on Matchday 32, powered by a first-half brace from Anton Kade and a second-half strike from Kristijan Jakić.

Detailed statistical data beyond goals, cards and substitutions was not available, but the key moments painted a clear picture of Augsburg’s cutting edge in front of goal.

The visitors took control in the 24th minute when Anton Kade opened the scoring, finishing a move created by Michael Gregoritsch to give Augsburg a 1–0 lead. Kade then doubled the advantage in first-half stoppage time, striking again in the 45+3rd minute after being set up by Dimitris Giannoulis to send the away side into the break 2–0 up.

Werder Bremen responded after making a triple change at half-time, introducing Samuel Mbangula, Justin Njinmah and Salim Musah. The hosts found a lifeline in the 64th minute, when Romano Schmid converted following good work from Olivier Deman to reduce the deficit to 2–1.

Augsburg, however, quickly reasserted themselves. Just five minutes later, substitute Kristijan Jakić, who had earlier replaced the booked Han-Noah Massengo in the 37th minute, restored the two-goal cushion. Jakić struck in the 69th minute from a pass by Marius Wolf to make it 3–1 and effectively settle the contest.

Massengo had been shown a yellow card in the 14th minute, while Bremen captain Marco Friedl received a booking in the 76th minute as the hosts pushed in vain for a late comeback. Further changes from Augsburg, including the introductions of Arthur Chaves, Marius Wolf, Rodrigo Ribeiro and Keven Schlotterbeck, helped the visitors see out the result.

The victory gives Augsburg a valuable three points late in the regular season, while Bremen are left to reflect on a costly first half despite their improvement after the interval.
