Last-Gasp Marcelo Alves Double Lifts Sochi Over Krylya Sovetov

PFK Sochi produced a dramatic late turnaround to beat PFK Krylya Sovetov Samara 2–1, with defender Marcelo Alves scoring both goals in an incident-filled RFPL clash on matchday 26.

The visitors struck first on 16 minutes. Ivan Oleynikov finished off a move created by Ilzat Akhmetov, giving Krylya Sovetov an early 1–0 advantage. Sochi were unable to find a response before the interval, and the Samara side carried their lead into half-time.

Sochi hit back almost immediately after the restart. In the 48th minute, Marcelo Alves levelled the score at 1–1, shifting the momentum towards the home side. From there, the match grew increasingly tense and physical, particularly for the visitors.

Krylya Sovetov goalkeeper Sergey Pesyakov had already been booked in the first half, and three more Samara players saw yellow after the break: Kirill Pechenin, Sergey Babkin and Roman Evgenjev. Babkin’s night ended early when he received a second caution and a yellow-red in the 82nd minute, leaving Krylya Sovetov down to ten men.

As stoppage time approached, the pressure told. In the 90th minute, Thomas Galdames was sent off with a straight red card, reducing the visitors to nine players. Oleynikov was also booked in the same frenetic period, while Sochi’s hero Alves picked up a yellow card of his own.

The decisive moment arrived deep into stoppage time, at 90+9 minutes. Alves rose again to score his second of the match, completing the comeback for Sochi. The winner was set up by substitute Anton Zinkovskiy, who had come on in the 82nd minute.

Both coaches made multiple substitutions in the second half as the game swung back and forth, with Sochi introducing Dmitriy Vasilyev, Zakhar Fedorov, Gustavo Furtado and François Kamano before Zinkovskiy’s late impact. For Krylya Sovetov, Ivan Lepskiy, Kirill Stolbov, Thomas Galdames and Artem Shumanskiy all featured from the bench.
