Jackson Cancels Kenny Strike as Bradford City Hold Bolton in League One Draw

Bradford City AFC battled back to secure a 1-1 home draw against Bolton Wanderers FC in League One on matchday 45, with both goals arriving in an eventful final 20 minutes.

After a tight first hour with no scoring, Bolton broke the deadlock in the 72nd minute. Johnny Kenny finished off a move for the visitors, converting after good work from Mason Burstow, to give Bolton a 1-0 lead and briefly tilt the contest in their favour.

Bradford responded with a double substitution on 65 minutes, introducing Nick Powell for Josh Neufville and Will Swan for Jenson Metcalfe in an attempt to spark the attack. The pressure eventually told in the 80th minute when Kayden Jackson struck the equaliser. The forward levelled the match at 1-1 with a goal created by defender Curtis Tilt, ensuring the hosts took something from the game.

Discipline played a visible role, particularly for Bradford in the first half. Josh Neufville picked up a yellow card on 15 minutes, followed by a booking for Joe Wright in the 36th minute. Bolton’s cautions came later, with George Johnston carded in the 79th minute and Chris Forino-Joseph shown yellow on 90 minutes as the visitors looked to protect their point.

Bolton made late changes as they chased a winner, bringing on Thierry Gale for Ibrahim Cissoko and Kyle Dempsey for Josh Sheehan in the 87th minute, before John McAtee replaced goalscorer Kenny on 90 minutes. Neither side, however, could find a decisive goal in the closing stages.

The result leaves both teams sharing the points near the end of the regular League One season. More detailed match statistics, lineups and minute-by-minute events were not available at the time of writing.
