Leyton Orient Held by Burton Albion in Four-Goal Final-Day League One Draw

Leyton Orient FC and Burton Albion FC closed out their League One campaigns with an entertaining 2–2 draw on matchday 46, as both sides traded blows in a four-goal encounter.

The hosts made the perfect start, taking the lead inside two minutes. Defender Will Forrester struck early for Leyton Orient to make it 1–0, giving the home side an immediate advantage.

Burton worked their way back into the game and were rewarded in the 34th minute. Fabio Tavares found the equaliser for the visitors, levelling the score at 1–1 before the interval.

Orient regained the lead shortly after half-time. In the 51st minute, Dominic Ballard finished off a move created by Michael Craig, whose assist set up the forward to restore the hosts’ advantage at 2–1.

The lead lasted just seven minutes. Burton responded again in the 58th minute when Alex Hartridge struck to make it 2–2, with Jake Beesley credited with the assist as the visitors pulled level for a second time.

The contest grew more competitive around the hour mark. Leyton Orient’s James Morris received a yellow card in the 54th minute, followed by a booking for Burton’s George Evans a minute later. Both managers turned to their benches throughout the second half, with Leyton Orient introducing Idris El Mizouni at the break and later Tyreeq Bakinson, Tom James, Daniel Happe and Sonny Perkins, while Burton brought on Sulyman Krubally, Toby Sibbick, Terence Vancooten and Finn Delap in search of control and a potential winner.

Despite the flurry of substitutions and chances suggested by the end-to-end scoring pattern, neither side could find a decisive goal in the closing stages.
