Paris Saint-Germain have been linked with a move for Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde, but reports in France suggest there is no substance to the rumours.
According to El Chiringuito, the French champions were interested in the Uruguay international, particularly amid recent tensions at Real Madrid.
Valverde was recently involved in a training-ground altercation with teammate Aurélien Tchouaméni, with reports indicating there were two separate confrontations between the pair.
Both players were subsequently fined, raising questions about the dressing room atmosphere ahead of the summer window.
However, RMC Sport report that PSG have not made any contact for Valverde and are not currently pursuing a deal. The report adds that the midfielder’s price tag is considered too high, while his playing style is not seen as a natural fit for Luis Enrique’s system.
Although PSG are expected to target a midfielder this summer, Valverde is not believed to be among their priorities.
