Manuel Neuer has reached an agreement with Bayern Munich to extend his contract by a further year.
According to reports from Sky Germany, both sides have finalized terms on a new deal that will keep the veteran goalkeeper at the club until 2027.
The contract is expected to be officially signed before Bayern’s final home match of the season against 1. FC Köln.
As part of the agreement, the 40-year-old has accepted a salary reduction from his current deal, which is estimated to be worth around €20 million per year.
Jonas Urbig, who has made 21 appearances this season, will remain Bayern’s second-choice goalkeeper and is expected to play a bigger role moving forward as the club prepares him to eventually succeed Neuer.
Meanwhile, Sven Ulreich is likely to continue as the team’s third-choice option.
