Porto ease past Estoril with 3–1 away win in Primeira Liga

FC Porto strengthened their Primeira Liga position with a composed 3–1 victory away to GD Estoril Praia on matchday 29, building a commanding lead before comfortably seeing out the contest.

The visitors struck first on 14 minutes. Pepê finished off a well-worked move, converting after a pass from Gabriel Veiga to make it 1–0 to Porto and set the tone for the evening.

Estoril’s task became even tougher just before the half-hour mark. In the 32nd minute, midfielder Xeka inadvertently turned the ball into his own net, doubling Porto’s advantage at 2–0. The hosts also picked up a first-half booking as Jordan Holsgrove was shown a yellow card on 30 minutes.

Both coaches turned to their benches after the break, with Porto introducing Borja Sainz, Terem Moffi, Rodrigo Mora and Moura around the hour mark, while Estoril responded with a series of changes including Rafik Guitane and Alejandro Marqués.

Porto effectively settled the contest in the 72nd minute when Victor Froholdt struck for 3–0, finishing from an assist by Alberto Baio. Estoril, however, refused to fold. Six minutes later, they pulled one back as Yanis Begraoui scored in the 78th minute, set up by veteran playmaker Pizzi, giving the home fans a late consolation.

The closing stages brought further substitutions and yellow cards for João Carvalho, Oskar Pietuszewski and Ricard Sánchez, but no change to the scoreline. Seko Fofana was also introduced for Porto in the 83rd minute as the visitors calmly saw out the win.
