Dale Taylor’s brace inspired Blackpool FC to a 3–1 home win over Peterborough United FC in League One on matchday 43, with the Seasiders overcoming a late red card to secure all three points.
Blackpool made a flying start, taking the lead inside three minutes. Taylor struck early to make it 1–0, finishing off a move created by Jordan Brown. That advantage lasted until the 24th minute, when Peterborough found a leveller. Brandon Khela brought the visitors back into the game, converting after being picked out by Jimmy Morgan to restore parity at 1–1.
The hosts responded straight after the interval. In the 49th minute, Tom Bloxham put Blackpool back in front, scoring for 2–1 from a move set up by James Husband. That goal shifted the momentum firmly in Blackpool’s favour as the second half wore on.
Blackpool extended their lead in the 82nd minute, with Taylor on target again. The forward completed his brace to make it 3–1, this time latching onto an assist from Christopher Hamilton. That strike effectively ended Peterborough’s hopes of a late comeback.
The closing stages were not without incident. Blackpool defender Fraser Horsfall was sent off in the 83rd minute, leaving the hosts to see out the game with 10 men. Peterborough’s Archie Collins received a yellow card on 86 minutes, while Reuell Walters for Blackpool and Peterborough substitute Cian Hayes were both booked in stoppage time.
Both managers made changes as the game developed, including an early first-half substitution for Blackpool involving Leighton Clarkson replacing George Honeyman, and several late attacking alterations for Peterborough. Detailed information on lineups, possession and other statistics was not available at the time of writing.
