Ousmane Dembele has given Paris Saint-Germain a late injury concern after being forced off during Sunday’s Ligue 1 clash with Paris FC.
The forward was withdrawn in the first half of PSG’s defeat, just two weeks before their Champions League final against Arsenal in Budapest.
Luis Enrique tried to ease fears after the match, saying the early signs did not suggest a serious problem.
“He’s fine. I hope it’s nothing serious,” the PSG manager said.
“I think it’s just fatigue.
“What we’re saying today is just speculation, but I don’t think it’s anything serious, and there are still two weeks left.”
Dembele’s fitness will now be closely monitored as PSG prepare for one of the biggest games in the club’s history. The French champions are due to face Arsenal on May 30, and Enrique will be desperate to have one of his most dangerous attacking players available.
There is more positive news elsewhere in the squad. Achraf Hakimi, Willian Pacho and Nuno Mendes all missed the defeat to Paris FC, but they are expected to return in time for the Champions League final.
For PSG, the next few days will be crucial. Dembele’s injury may only be fatigue, but any setback this close to a European final is enough to cause concern.
