FK Rostov claimed a valuable point on matchday 24 of the RFPL, drawing 1–1 at home against FK Spartak Moskva after recovering from an early deficit.
Spartak struck first on eight minutes when Roman Zobnin finished off a move created by Marquinhos, who provided the assist for the visitors’ opener. The goal gave Spartak early control, reflected in the 0–1 scoreline.
The match grew more physical as half-time approached. Spartak defender Alexander Djiku went into the book in the 40th minute, and only two minutes later Rostov were level. Mohammad Mohebi converted from the penalty spot in the 42nd minute to make it 1–1, a score that would ultimately hold until the final whistle.
In the second half, both coaches turned to their benches in search of a winner. Spartak introduced Pablo Solari at the break for Igor Dmitriev, and later brought on Daniil Denisov for goalscorer Zobnin. Ezequiel Barco and Manfred Ugalde were also withdrawn, with Christopher Martins and Levi García entering in the final stages.
Rostov responded with their own changes. Ivan Komarov replaced Konstantin Kuchaev just before the hour, while Oumar Sako came on for the booked David Semenchuk. In the closing moments, German Ignatov, Andrey Langovich and Anton Shamonin were all introduced as Rostov refreshed their lineup.
The game finished with a flurry of yellow cards in added time, as Levi García for Spartak and Rostov goalkeeper Rustam Yatimov were both cautioned in the 90th minute.
