CD Mirandés claimed an impressive 2–1 comeback victory over Real Zaragoza on matchday 34 of the Segunda División, overturning an early penalty to secure all three points.
The hosts struck first in the 23rd minute when Dani Gómez converted from the spot to put Real Zaragoza 1–0 up. The forward kept his composure to give his side an early advantage in a match that quickly became tense, with yellow cards shown to Fernando Medrano and Jawad El Yamiq just two minutes earlier.
Mirandés, however, grew into the game and found their response on the stroke of half-time. In the 45th minute, Unax del Cura levelled the score with a regular-play finish, sending the teams into the break locked at 1–1.
The visitors completed the turnaround shortly after the restart. In the 53rd minute, Carlos Fernández struck to make it 2–1, finishing a move assisted by Coarasa. That goal proved decisive as Mirandés held firm despite sustained Zaragoza efforts and a flurry of substitutions from both benches.
The match was card-heavy, with multiple bookings for each side, including yellows for Rafael Bauzà, Yussif, El Jebari, Dani Tasende, Juan Gutiérrez, Unax del Cura, Iker Varela, Juan Palomares, Keidi Bare and Coarasa as the contest grew increasingly physical in the closing stages.
Real Zaragoza introduced fresh legs at half-time and later in the second half, bringing on Mawuli Mensah, Marcos Cuenca, Mario Soberón and Dani Tasende in an attempt to rescue a result. Mirandés responded with their own changes, including Hugo Novoa, Iker Varela, Siren Diao, Silvi and Aarón, to protect and manage their narrow lead.
