Lionel Messi continues to rewrite the record books, delivering yet another milestone during Inter Miami’s 4-2 victory over Toronto FC.
The Argentine superstar scored once and provided two assists to reach 100 goal contributions in Major League Soccer, becoming the fastest player in league history to achieve the feat.
Messi reached the landmark in just 64 appearances, comfortably surpassing the previous record of 95 games set by Toronto FC legend Sebastian Giovinco.
Since arriving at Inter Miami in July 2023, Messi has amassed 59 goals and 41 assists, transforming the club’s fortunes and setting new standards across the league.
His impact has been immediate and historic. Messi has already secured back-to-back MLS MVP awards, claimed the Golden Boot, and played a central role in Inter Miami’s first MLS Cup triumph. Alongside that success, he has helped the club lift the Leagues Cup and Supporters’ Shield, further adding to his record-breaking career trophy haul.
The 2026 season has seen no slowdown. Messi recently scored his 900th career goal and became the fastest player in MLS history to record 20 goals and 20 assists, reaching the mark in just 26 matches.
Currently among the league’s top scorers once again, Messi remains at the heart of Inter Miami’s ambitions, continuing to deliver at an elite level and push the boundaries of what is possible in MLS.
