Lincoln City Finish League One Campaign with Controlled Win at Port Vale

Lincoln City closed out their League One season with a composed 2–0 away win over Port Vale on matchday 46, sealed by goals in either half from Ben House and Robert Street.

The visitors made an ideal start, taking the lead in the 9th minute. Ben House struck early for Lincoln City, finishing a move set up by Jack Moylan to put the Imps 1–0 ahead and immediately place Port Vale on the back foot.

Lincoln managed the game effectively after the opener, though midfielder Conor McGrandles picked up a yellow card in the 22nd minute. Despite that caution, the away side maintained their shape and protected their advantage through the rest of the first half.

Any hopes of a Port Vale fightback were further damaged shortly after the interval. In the 49th minute, Robert Street doubled Lincoln City’s lead with a regular-time strike to make it 2–0, giving the visitors clear control of the contest.

Port Vale responded with a flurry of substitutions just before the hour mark and into the final stages. Grant Ward made way for George Byers in the 57th minute, followed by Liam Gordon being replaced by Connor Hall at 58 minutes. A triple change on 66 minutes saw Rhys Walters and Onel Hernández substituted for Ryan Croasdale and Ethon Archer, respectively, as the hosts searched for a route back into the game. George Hall later came off for Edward Lake in the 83rd minute.

Lincoln also refreshed their side, introducing Dom Jefferies, Kamil Conteh, Ryan Oné, Alfie Lloyd and Erik Ring across the second half. Conteh collected a yellow card in the 73rd minute, but Lincoln saw out the match with their two-goal cushion intact.

The result caps Lincoln City’s League One regular season with a solid away victory, while Port Vale end their campaign with a home defeat. More detailed match statistics and events beyond goals, cards and substitutions were not available at the time of writing.
