FC Porto let two points slip away in astonishing fashion on Primeira Liga matchday 28, drawing 2–2 at home with FC Famalicão after a 99th-minute equaliser from the visitors.
The hosts took control in the first half and broke the deadlock on 35 minutes. Alberto Baio finished a move set up by Terem Moffi to give Porto a 1–0 lead and reward their early pressure. It was Baio’s night to remember briefly turned bittersweet later on, as he would also go into the referee’s book in stoppage time.
Famalicão responded after the interval. In the 54th minute, Marcos Vinicios struck to bring the visitors level at 1–1, punishing Porto’s inability to close out the game and shifting the momentum of the contest.
Porto head coach turned to his bench before and after the break, with Seko Fofana introduced shortly before half-time and Martim Fernandes, William da Silva and later Deniz Gul and Borja Sainz also coming on. The changes appeared decisive when, deep into stoppage time, Fofana scored in the 90+1st minute, finishing from a Fernandes assist to restore Porto’s lead at 2–1.
However, the match had one final twist. With the clock approaching the 100th minute, Rodrigo Pinheiro struck in the 90+9th minute to make it 2–2 and secure a dramatic point for Famalicão.
The game was competitive throughout, with yellow cards shown to Zaidu Sanusi, William da Silva, Jan Bednarek, Alan Varela and Baio for Porto, while Tommie van de Looi, Hugo Oliveira, Rafa Soares and Justin de Haas were booked for Famalicão.
