Deportivo Alavés rescued a point at the death in a 2–2 draw with CA Osasuna, as Lucas Boyé’s stoppage-time penalty capped a tense Primera Division encounter on Matchday 30.
Osasuna struck early in Vitoria. After just four minutes, Valentin Rosier put the visitors in front with a regular-time opener to make it 0–1. The defender’s impact was soon tempered by a yellow card in the 16th minute, the first of several bookings in a fiercely contested clash.
Alavés grew into the game and were rewarded just before the break. In the 44th minute, Toni Martínez levelled the score at 1–1, finishing after a pass from Antonio Blanco, who was booked three minutes later. The equaliser ensured the sides went into half-time on level terms.
The second half was shaped by a flurry of substitutions on both sides as the coaches searched for an edge. Osasuna regained the lead on 80 minutes when Ante Budimir converted from the penalty spot to make it 1–2, seemingly putting the visitors on course for an away win.
However, the closing stages were chaotic. Alavés introduced Lucas Boyé in the 81st minute, and the forward made the decisive contribution deep into added time. In the 90th minute plus one, Boyé held his nerve from the spot to convert a penalty and bring Alavés back to 2–2.
Osasuna’s frustration boiled over in stoppage time with multiple late bookings and a red card for Asier Osambela in the 90th minute, as discipline slipped in the final moments. Yellow cards were also shown to Catena and Iker Muñoz, while Ángel Pérez went into the book for Alavés.
The draw leaves both sides with a share of the points in the Primera Division. More granular match statistics, including possession figures and shot counts, were not available at the time of writing.
