Celtic FC earned a hard-fought 2–1 victory over Dundee FC on matchday 32 of the Scottish Premiership on 5 April 2026, thanks to a decisive late goal from substitute Kelechi Iheanacho.
The visitors made a fast start. In the 8th minute, Hyun-jun Yang put Celtic in front, finishing a move created by Benjamin Nygren, whose assist opened up the Dundee defence for the early 1–0 lead.
Dundee grew into the game and were handed a lifeline early in the second half. In the 57th minute, Simon Murray converted from the penalty spot to level the score at 1–1. The penalty shifted the momentum, and both managers responded with a flurry of substitutions just after the hour mark.
Celtic’s key change came on 58 minutes, when Tomáš Čvančara made way for Kelechi Iheanacho. The Nigerian forward ultimately proved the difference. In the 82nd minute, Iheanacho restored Celtic’s advantage with a regular-play strike, finishing after good work on the left from Marcelo Saracchi, who provided the assist to make it 2–1.
Dundee’s task became even more difficult moments later. Ryan Astley was shown a red card in the 84th minute, leaving the hosts down to 10 men as they chased an equaliser. Celtic saw out the closing stages despite late yellow cards for Liam Scales (63′) and Anthony Ralston (90′).
The result keeps Celtic’s title ambitions on track while dealing a setback to Dundee’s hopes of climbing the table late in the regular season. Detailed statistics beyond goals, bookings, substitutions and basic scoreline information were not available at the time of writing.
