FC Alverca produced an impressive comeback to see off Casa Pia AC 3–1 on matchday 29 of the Primeira Liga, turning an early scare into three valuable points in their regular-season campaign.
The visitors struck almost immediately. In the 1st minute, Joao Marques put Casa Pia in front, finishing a move created by Jérémy Livolant to hand the away side a dream start and briefly silence the home crowd.
Alverca regrouped after the break and turned the game around with a dominant second half. In the 49th minute, Lucas Figueiredo levelled the score at 1–1, converting after good work from Chiquinho. That goal shifted the momentum decisively towards the hosts.
Chiquinho then moved from provider to scorer. In the 63rd minute, he struck to make it 2–1, completing Alverca’s comeback and putting Casa Pia on the back foot heading into the final half-hour.
Casa Pia responded with a flurry of substitutions between the 58th and 69th minutes, introducing Claudio Mendes, Dailon Rocha Livramento, Iyad Mohamed and Lawrence Ofori in an attempt to wrest back control. However, it was Alverca’s bench that ultimately had the greater impact.
After Marko Milovanovic came on for Sandro Lima in the 75th minute, he soon made his mark. In the 83rd minute, Milovanovic provided the assist for Rhaldney, who finished to seal a 3–1 victory for Alverca and remove any remaining doubt about the result.
Late changes from both sides, including the introductions of Cédric Nuozzi, Vasco Moreira, Davy Gui and Zakaria Kassary for Alverca, helped the hosts see out the closing stages without incident.
