Sporting Clube de Portugal claimed a hard-fought 1–0 victory over CF Estrela da Amadora on Matchday 29 of the Primeira Liga, thanks to a decisive second-half strike from Daniel Bragança.
The match, played on 11 April 2026, remained goalless through a closely contested first half. The only booking before the break went to Estrela midfielder Kevin Höög-Jansson in the 45th minute, underlining the combative nature of the opening period.
Sporting made an early adjustment after the interval, introducing Georgios Vagiannidis for Ivan Fresneda at half-time. The visitors’ breakthrough arrived in the 59th minute, when Bragança finished off a move set up by Trincão. His goal put Sporting 1–0 up and ultimately proved to be the winner.
Estrela da Amadora responded with a series of attacking substitutions, bringing on Jovane Cabral and Jorge Meireles just after the hour mark, followed later by Otávio, Sydney van Hooijdonk and Jefferson Encada as they chased an equaliser. Sporting, meanwhile, refreshed their midfield and attack with Geovany Quenda and Hidemasa Morita replacing Pedro Gonçalves and goalscorer Bragança on 67 minutes.
The closing stages grew increasingly tense. Sporting goalkeeper Rui Silva was booked in the 87th minute, before Estrela forwards Encada and van Hooijdonk were both shown yellow cards in the 88th and 90th minutes respectively, as the hosts pushed forward in search of a late leveller. Sporting also used late substitutions, introducing Ousmane Diomande and Rafael Nel in stoppage time.
Detailed statistics such as possession figures, shots and full lineups were not available at the time of writing, but the key moment remained clear: Bragança’s 59th-minute goal separated the sides and secured an important away win for Sporting in the regular season.
