Last-Gasp Driouech Winner Seals 4–3 PSV Comeback Against Utrecht

PSV produced a dramatic late comeback to defeat FC Utrecht 4–3 in a pulsating Eredivisie clash on matchday 29, with substitute Couhaib Driouech netting the decisive goal deep into stoppage time.

The visitors stunned PSV with a blistering start. Artem Stepanov opened the scoring in the 3rd minute, finishing after a move involving Niklas Vesterlund, before Gjivai Zechiël doubled Utrecht’s advantage on 13 minutes from an Angel Alarcon assist to make it 0–2.

PSV responded through Ismael Saibari, who halved the deficit in the 21st minute after being set up by Ivan Perišić. Saibari struck again shortly after the interval, levelling the match at 2–2 in the 48th minute from a Mauro Júnior assist as PSV came out aggressively in the second half.

The hosts completed the turnaround on 52 minutes when Guus Til put PSV 3–2 ahead, with Saibari this time turning provider. Utrecht, however, refused to fold. Substitute Jesper Karlsson, introduced on 59 minutes, made his impact felt in the 82nd minute, converting after good work from Sébastien Haller to bring the score back to 3–3.

With the match seemingly headed for a draw, PSV found one last moment of quality. In the 90th minute plus four, Driouech, who had come on in the 74th minute, struck the winner after being picked out by Joey Veerman to seal a 4–3 victory.

Utrecht’s Niklas Vesterlund received the only booking of the match in the 71st minute. Both coaches turned to their benches in search of an edge, with Karlsson and Haller among the key introductions for Utrecht, while Ryan Flamingo, Esmir Bajraktarevic, Driouech and Ricardo Pepi all featured off the bench for PSV.
