Hackett-Fairchild Brace Helps Lincoln Edge Seven-Goal Thriller Against Wycombe

Lincoln City FC held their nerve to claim a 4–3 victory over Wycombe Wanderers FC in a pulsating League One encounter on matchday 45, with Recco Hackett-Fairchild’s brace proving decisive in a seven-goal contest.

The Imps did pick up bookings for Sonny Bradley on 50 minutes and Ivan Varfolomeyev on 65, but they looked comfortable until Wycombe mounted an impressive response.

Josh Scowen began the comeback in the 57th minute, pulling one back for Wycombe, and Declan Skura’s goal on 74 minutes further reduced the deficit to 3–2. Matt Bloomfield’s side continued to push, with a raft of substitutions adding fresh legs for the visitors.

Lincoln restored breathing space in the 83rd minute when Tendayi Darikwa made it 4–2, finishing a move created by goalkeeper George Wickens. Even then, Wycombe refused to fold. Deep into stoppage time, Cauley Woodrow struck in the 90+4th minute, assisted by Scowen, to set up a tense finale at 4–3.
