Grêmio Held to Goalless Draw by Ten-Man Remo in Série A

Grêmio FBPA were left frustrated after being held to a 0–0 home draw by Clube do Remo on matchday 10 of the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, despite playing much of the second half against ten men.

The first half featured few decisive incidents in front of goal based on the available data, but tensions rose shortly before the interval. Grêmio’s Arthur was booked in the 40th minute, followed two minutes later by a yellow card for Cristian Pavón. Remo then picked up two quick cautions of their own in the 44th minute, with David Braga and Yago Pikachu both going into the referee’s notebook, signalling an increasingly combative contest.

Grêmio reacted at half-time with a triple substitution to inject new energy into their attack and midfield. Tetê replaced José Enamorado, Arthur came on for Bernardo Zortea, and Gabriel Mec took the place of Miguel Monsalve. Later, Dodi was introduced in the 66th minute for Juan Ignacio Nardoni as the home side continued to search for a breakthrough.

The key turning point arrived in the 68th minute when Remo’s Yago Pikachu received a second booking and was sent off with a yellow-red card, leaving the visitors down to ten men for the final stages. Even with the numerical advantage, Grêmio could not convert their pressure into a winning goal, later bringing on Martin Braithwaite for Pedro Gabriel in the 77th minute in a further attacking change.

Remo, meanwhile, adjusted their lineup with substitutions for Alef Manga and David Braga in the 72nd minute, and Gabriel Taliari making way for Jáderson in the 84th minute, focusing on defensive resilience to secure a valuable away point.

With detailed shot counts, possession figures and other match statistics not available, the full extent of each side’s dominance cannot be confirmed. However, the final scoreline of 0–0 and the late red card to Pikachu underline a match defined more by discipline and defensive organisation than by clear attacking quality.
