Ebonog Cancels Out Sinayoko as Le Havre and Auxerre Share the Points

Le Havre AC and AJ Auxerre drew 1–1 on Sunday afternoon in Ligue 1, as two first-half goals settled an evenly contested matchday 28 encounter.

Auxerre struck first on 15 minutes. Lassine Sinayoko gave the visitors the lead, finishing a move created by Daniel Namaso, whose assist opened up the Le Havre defence for the game’s opener.

The home side responded quickly. In the 23rd minute, Simon Ebonog levelled the score for Le Havre, converting after good work from Issa Soumaré, who provided the assist to bring the hosts back into the game. From there, the match tightened, with neither side able to find a decisive breakthrough.

Discipline played a minor role, with four yellow cards shown. Le Havre captain Arouna Sangante was booked in the 17th minute, while Auxerre’s Daniel Namaso received a caution in the 79th minute. A late flashpoint in the 86th minute saw both Elisha Owusu of Auxerre and Yanis Zouaoui of Le Havre shown yellow cards.

Both coaches turned to their benches in search of a winner. Le Havre introduced Mbwana Samatta for Sofiane Boufal in the 71st minute and later brought on Godson Kyeremeh, who replaced goalscorer Ebonog in the 77th minute. Auxerre responded with Josué Casimir coming on for Fredrik Oppegard in the 78th minute, before Sekou Mara replaced Namaso in stoppage time. Le Havre also sent on Timothee Pembele for Zouaoui at the 90-minute mark.

Despite the changes, neither side could alter the 1–1 scoreline, leaving Le Havre and Auxerre to take a point apiece in the Ligue 1 regular season. More detailed match statistics and events beyond goals, bookings and substitutions are not available from the current data.
