Early Goals from Bremer and McKennie Fire Juventus Past Genoa
Juventus FC secured a controlled 2–0 victory over Genoa CFC on Serie A matchday 31, with all the decisive action coming early in the first half.
The hosts made a fast start, taking the lead in the 4th minute. Centre-back Bremer opened the scoring, finishing after a delivery from Lloyd Kelly to put Juventus 1–0 ahead. The early breakthrough settled any nerves and allowed the Bianconeri to dictate the tempo.
Juventus doubled their advantage in the 17th minute. Weston McKennie found the net, assisted by Francisco Conceição, to make it 2–0 and give the home side a firm grip on the contest. Genoa were unable to respond before the interval despite trying to grow into the game.
The match featured several bookings, with Manuel Locatelli and McKennie both cautioned for Juventus before half-time. After the break, Morten Frendrup was shown a yellow card for Genoa, while Bremer and Khéphren Thuram-Ulie also went into the book for the home side in the closing stages.
There was a notable change in goal for Juventus at half-time, as Mattia Perin made way for Michele Di Gregorio. In attack, Jonathan David was replaced by Arkadiusz Milik midway through the second half. Genoa introduced Tommaso Baldanzi, Patrizio Masini, Caleb Ekuban and later Jeff Ekhator in search of a route back into the match, but the visitors could not find a breakthrough.
Late in the game, Juventus refreshed their wide and midfield options, with Fabio Miretti and Emil Holm coming on, and Jérémie Boga replacing Kenan Yıldız in the 90th minute.
No further goals were added after McKennie’s first-half strike, and Juventus saw out the match to claim all three points. Detailed shot counts, possession figures and other advanced statistics were not available at the time of writing.
