Early Flurry, Own Goal Leave Cesena and Südtirol Level in Serie B Draw

AC Cesena and FC Südtirol played out a 1–1 draw on Serie B matchday 33, with the contest effectively decided in the opening stages before settling into a tactical battle. All key scoring moments came in the first 20 minutes, and no winner could be found despite a raft of second-half substitutions.

The visitors struck first after just three minutes. FC Südtirol captain Fabian Tait put his side ahead, finishing a move created by Daniele Casiraghi to make it 1–0 to the Bolzano club. The early breakthrough gave Südtirol control, but Cesena found a route back into the match shortly afterwards.

On 17 minutes, AC Cesena leveled through an own goal. Defender Federico Davi inadvertently diverted the ball into his own net, bringing the score to 1–1 and undoing Südtirol’s bright start. That moment proved decisive on the scoreboard, as neither side managed to find a second goal.

Südtirol collected all three bookings of the afternoon. Salvatore Molina was cautioned as early as the sixth minute, followed by a yellow card for Davi in the 43rd minute, compounding a difficult first half for the defender. Deep into regulation time, substitute Simone Davì also went into the referee’s book on 90 minutes.

Both coaches turned to their benches in search of a breakthrough after the interval. Südtirol introduced Raphael Odogwu and Hamza El Kaouakibi before the hour, with Marco Frigerio and later Domen Črnigoj and Simone Davì also entering the fray. Cesena responded with a triple change around the 63rd minute, bringing on Gianluca Frabotta and Michele Castagnetti, then later Giacomo Vrioni, Marco Olivieri and Ibrahima Wade.

Despite the fresh legs, neither attack could alter the scoreline, and the match finished locked at 1–1. More detailed information on chances and statistics was not available at the time of writing.
