Bolton Wanderers FC produced a dramatic late comeback to earn a 3-3 draw against Huddersfield Town AFC in League One on matchday 44, with Ibrahim Cissoko striking deep into stoppage time after the hosts had been reduced to 10 men.
Bolton started strongly and went ahead on 14 minutes when Eoin Toal finished a move created by Thierry Gale, whose assist put the home side 1-0 up.
Huddersfield responded after the break. In the 52nd minute, David Kasumu levelled the match, converting from a Radinio Balker assist. Just three minutes later, the visitors turned the game around from the penalty spot, with Marcus Harness making it 2-1.
Bolton’s task became even tougher in the 53rd minute when Jordi Osei-Tutu was shown a straight red card. Huddersfield capitalised on the numerical advantage in the 66th minute, Kasumu scoring his second of the afternoon from a Sean Roughan assist to open up a 3-1 lead.
Refusing to fold, Bolton hit back on 77 minutes through Johnny Kenny, who pulled one back after being set up by Amario Cozier-Duberry to make it 3-2. The substitute winger was involved again in the decisive moment of the match.
In the 90th minute plus 11, Cissoko, introduced late on, struck the equaliser for 10-man Bolton, again from a Cozier-Duberry assist, sealing a 3-3 draw in a breathless finale.
The contest was fiercely competitive, with multiple yellow cards shown to both sides, including bookings for Ryan Ledson, George Johnston, Kasumu, Harness, Eoin Toal, Balker, Kenny, Lasse Sørensen and Gale.
