Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has intensified tensions with Barcelona, declaring that relations between the two clubs have completely collapsed amid the ongoing Negreira scandal.

In a recent interview, Perez made it clear that Real Madrid no longer intends to maintain any ties with their historic rivals, citing the alleged payments made by Barcelona to former refereeing official Jose Maria Enriquez Negreira.

He described the case as one of the most serious controversies in football and insisted that it must have consequences.

Perez also revealed that Real Madrid are actively pursuing the matter, preparing extensive documentation to present to UEFA. He claimed the club has gathered significant evidence and believes the alleged irregularities have impacted results over multiple seasons, including the current campaign.

The Madrid president suggested that his club has been on the receiving end of unfair decisions, arguing that dropped points could have had a major influence on league standings.

Barcelona, however, have strongly rejected the accusations. Vice-president Rafa Yuste dismissed Perez’s comments, accusing him of trying to divert attention from Real Madrid’s recent struggles on the pitch. He also indicated that the club is considering legal action in response to the statements.

The escalating war of words highlights the deepening divide between Spain’s two biggest clubs, with tensions now reaching a new high both on and off the field.
