Musa and Sarver Fire FC Dallas to Statement Win at New York Red Bulls
FC Dallas claimed an impressive 2–0 away win over New York Red Bulls on MLS matchday 11, powered by second-half strikes from Petar Musa and Samuel Sarver.
After a cagey opening period in which neither side found a breakthrough, the visitors seized control early in the second half. In the 54th minute, Ran Binyamin unlocked the home defence with a decisive contribution, setting up Petar Musa to put Dallas 1–0 ahead. The finish shifted the momentum firmly toward the Western Conference side.
New York Red Bulls responded with a triple change on 66 minutes, introducing Jahkeele Marshall-Rutty, Nehuén Benedetti and Rafael Mosquera for Juan Mina, Emil Forsberg and Cade Cowell in search of an attacking spark. Later, Mohammed Sofo replaced Ronald Donkor in another attempt to tilt the contest.
Dallas, however, managed the game well and freshened their own ranks. Shortly after assisting the opener, Binyamin made way for Sebastien Ibeagha, while Christian Cappis replaced goalscorer Musa in the 68th minute. Santiago Moreno and Joaquín Valiente were later withdrawn for Samuel Sarver and Logan Farrington with ten minutes remaining.
The two substitutes combined to seal the result. In the 88th minute, Farrington provided the assist for Sarver, who doubled the lead and locked in all three points for FC Dallas. Sarver was booked a minute later, joining goalkeeper Michael Collodi on the visitors’ disciplinary list after his earlier yellow card in the 31st minute.
New York’s final roll of the dice came in the 83rd minute as Julian Hall made way for experienced forward Maxim Choupo-Moting, but the home side could not find a route back into the match.
