Alfie May Brace Powers Huddersfield to Dominant Final-Day Win at AFC Wimbledon

Huddersfield Town signed off their League One campaign in style with a commanding 4–0 win away at AFC Wimbledon on matchday 46, driven by a brace from Alfie May and an influential display from Ryan Ledson.

Wimbledon’s afternoon became more difficult shortly after the half-hour mark when Ryan Johnson received a yellow card. Huddersfield midfielder Ryan Ledson was also booked a minute later in a combative first half that otherwise passed without further scoring.

The Terriers took firm control after the break. In the 57th minute, Alfie May doubled the advantage, converting from a pass by Cameron Humphreys to make it 2–0. Wimbledon responded with a double substitution at half-time and further changes on the hour, but they struggled to stem the Huddersfield momentum.

May then completed his brace in the 72nd minute, again assisted by Ledson, as Huddersfield ruthlessly punished Wimbledon to move 4–0 ahead. The home side introduced further substitutes, including Omar Bugiel and Zack Nelson, but could not find a response. Steve Seddon’s late booking added to a frustrating afternoon for the hosts.
