Ehizibue and Kristensen Strike as Udinese See Off Torino in Serie A
Udinese Calcio secured a composed 2–0 victory over Torino FC on matchday 35 of the Serie A season, with goals from Kingsley Ehizibue and Thomas Kristensen settling the contest in Udine.
The breakthrough arrived on the stroke of half-time. In the first minute of stoppage time at the end of the opening period, Kingsley Ehizibue struck for Udinese to make it 1–0, giving the hosts a crucial lead just before the interval.
Shortly after the restart, Christian Kabasele was shown a yellow card in the 46th minute, while Torino’s Rafa Obrador picked up a caution three minutes later as the visitors tried to respond. Instead, Udinese doubled their advantage. In the 51st minute, Thomas Kristensen finished off a move assisted by Lennon Miller, extending the lead to 2–0 and putting the home side firmly in control.
Torino coach turned to his bench just before the hour mark, introducing Sandro Kulenović for Emirhan Ilkhan and Matteo Prati for Cesare Casadei in the 57th minute. Obrador was later replaced by Cristiano Biraghi on 65 minutes as the visitors looked for a way back into the match.
Udinese responded with their own changes to manage the closing stages. Goalscorer Ehizibue made way for Oier Zarraga in the 69th minute, while Adam Buksa was replaced by Idrissa Guèye a minute later. Further substitutions followed as Lennon Miller came off for Jakub Piotrowski in the 76th minute and Kabasele was replaced by Branimir Mlacic a minute later. Late on, Arthur Atta was withdrawn for Juan Arizala in the 84th minute.
Torino also brought on Alieu Njie for Giovanni Simeone in the 72nd minute, but the visitors were unable to find a response as Udinese saw out the win.
