Moncini and Maggiore Strike as 10-Man Bari See Off Virtus Entella

SSC Bari claimed a valuable 2–0 home win over ACD Virtus Entella on Serie B matchday 37, overcoming a second-half red card before sealing the points deep into stoppage time.

The hosts struck the opener on the stroke of half-time. In the first minute of added time at the end of the opening period, Gabriele Moncini made the breakthrough for Bari, finishing a move created by Matthias Braunöder to send the home side into the interval 1–0 up.

The second half turned increasingly combative. Bari defender Cas Odenthal had already gone into the referee’s book in the 22nd minute, and after the restart the card count escalated. Virtus Entella’s Bernat Guiu received a yellow card in the 53rd minute, moments before Bari were reduced to 10 men when Matthias Verreth was shown a straight red card.

Just a minute later, Braunöder also picked up a yellow, as tension rose on both sides. Virtus Entella pushed to make their numerical advantage count, but their hopes suffered a major blow when Guiu collected a second booking in the 75th minute and was dismissed with a yellow-red, restoring numerical parity for the final stretch.

Both coaches turned to their benches with a flurry of substitutions from the hour mark onwards, including the introduction of Marvin Cuni and Dimitrios Nikolaou for Bari, and Davide Bariti and Mattia Tirelli for Virtus Entella. Late in the game, Bari brought on Giulio Maggiore in the 87th minute, a change that proved decisive.
