Sheffield Wednesday FC finished their Championship season on a high with a 2–1 victory over West Bromwich Albion FC on matchday 46, holding off a late fightback from the visitors at Hillsborough.

The hosts seized control before half-time with a decisive four-minute spell. Nathaniel Chalobah, already in the referee’s book after a 32nd-minute yellow card, opened the scoring in the 36th minute, making it 1–0 to Sheffield Wednesday.
