Tavares Strike Lifts Akron to Narrow RFPL Win at Baltika
FK Akron Tolyatti claimed an important 1–0 away victory over FK Baltika Kaliningrad on RFPL matchday 27, decided by a second-half goal from Gilson Tavares.
The match, played on 27 April 2026, remained goalless through a tight first half, with neither side able to find a breakthrough before the interval. Akron reacted quickly after the restart, making a half-time substitution as Stefan Lončar replaced Maksim Boldyrev.
The visitors took the lead in the 54th minute. FK Akron Tolyatti forward Gilson Tavares finished a move set up by Ifet Đakovac, putting the away side 1–0 up and ultimately deciding the contest. The goal shifted the momentum in Akron’s favour, forcing FK Baltika Kaliningrad to chase the game.
Baltika responded with a flurry of substitutions just after the hour mark in search of an equaliser. Tenton Yenne made way for Nnamdi Chinonso Offor on 60 minutes, and a triple change followed in the 68th minute, with Nikolai Titkov, Mingiyan Beveev and Ivan Belikov replaced by Aymane Mourid, Andrey Mendel and Mikhail Ryadno respectively.
Akron looked to protect their lead late on, introducing Aleksa Đurasović and Maksim Kuzmin from the bench, before Nikita Bazilevskiy came on in stoppage time.
The game grew tenser in the final half-hour, reflected in a series of yellow cards. Tavares was booked for Akron in the 66th minute, followed by Baltika substitute Eduardo Anderson in the 81st minute. Akron defenders Ionuţ Nedelcearu (83′) and goalkeeper Vitaliy Gudiev (90′) also went into the referee’s book as the visitors saw out the result.
With no additional goals or major incidents reported, Akron held firm to secure all three points. More detailed statistical data and full line-ups were not available at the time of writing.
