Segecic Hat-Trick Fires Portsmouth to Crucial Win at Stoke

Adrian Segecic delivered a standout performance with a hat-trick as Portsmouth FC claimed a 3–1 away victory over Stoke City FC in Championship action on matchday 45.

Portsmouth, however, regained control as the half wore on. In the 66th minute, Segecic restored the visitors’ advantage, this time assisted by substitute Josh Murphy, making it 2–1. Stoke made a series of changes in search of another equaliser, including the introductions of Jesurun Rak-Sakyi, Junior Tchamadeu, Steven N’Zonzi and Million Manhoef, but were unable to find a way through.

Segecic completed his hat-trick on 82 minutes, extending Portsmouth’s lead to 3–1 with an unassisted strike that effectively sealed the points. Moments later he was booked, one of two yellow cards issued to Pompey, with Hayden Matthews also cautioned on the hour mark.
