Barry Hat-trick Fires Stockport to Comeback Win Over Peterborough
Louie Barry delivered a standout performance with a hat-trick as Stockport County FC came from behind to defeat Peterborough United FC 3–1 on League One matchday 45.
The visitors struck first on 13 minutes when Harry Leonard gave Peterborough the lead, finishing after being set up by Bolu Shofowoke. That early breakthrough put Stockport under pressure, but the hosts responded well and gradually took control of the game.
Stockport found their equaliser in the 28th minute. Adama Sidibeh provided the assist for Barry, who converted to make it 1–1 and swing the momentum back towards the home side.
After the interval, Barry wasted little time in turning the match around. In the 48th minute he struck again, this time without an assist recorded, to put Stockport 2–1 up. Peterborough struggled to contain him, and the forward completed his hat-trick midway through the second half. In the 64th minute, Oliver Norwood picked out Barry, who finished once more to extend the lead to 3–1.
Peterborough’s frustrations showed when Harley Mills was booked on 45 minutes, while Stockport’s Odin Bailey and Tayo Edun received yellow cards in the 53rd and 57th minutes respectively.
Both managers turned to their benches in the final half-hour. Stockport withdrew Barry to an ovation in the 73rd minute, replacing him with Jack Diamond, and also introduced Lewis Bate, Isaac Olaofe, Lewis Fiorini and Ben Osborn. Peterborough brought on David Kamara, Benjamin Woods, Cian Hayes and Jacob Mendy as they chased a way back into the match.
The result, confirmed at full time, ended 3–1 in Stockport’s favour. Beyond the goals, bookings and substitutions listed, detailed match statistics and further events were not available at the time of writing.
