Paris FC stun Metz with late surge to claim vital Ligue 1 away win

Paris FC produced a composed away performance to defeat FC Metz 3–1 on Matchday 30 of the Ligue 1 regular season, pulling clear after the break thanks to goals from Otavio Ataide and Ilan Kebbal.

The visitors struck first on 21 minutes. Alimami Gory put Paris FC in front with a regular-time opener, capitalising on early pressure to make it 1–0. Metz, however, responded well and were level within ten minutes.

In the 31st minute, substitute Giorgi Kvilitaia justified his early introduction. Brought on just a minute earlier for Habib Diallo, the Georgian forward finished a move created by Sadibou Sané, restoring parity at 1–1 and briefly swinging momentum back towards the hosts.

Metz collected two first-half yellow cards, shown to Urie-Michel Mboula and Koffi Franck Kouao, while Paris FC’s Kebbal went into the book on the stroke of half-time. Gory later followed with a caution in the 62nd minute, underlining the intensity of the contest.

The decisive moment arrived in the 69th minute. Otavio Ataide, supplied by veteran forward Ciro Immobile, struck to put Paris FC 2–1 up, a lead that Metz could not overturn despite a flurry of substitutions midway through the second half. Paris FC also refreshed their side, withdrawing Gory and later Immobile as they looked to manage the game.

Any hopes of a Metz comeback were extinguished on 89 minutes. Diego Coppola set up Ilan Kebbal, who added Paris FC’s third and confirmed a valuable away success at 3–1. Further changes in the closing stages helped the visitors see out the result.
