Lecce Fight Back to Hold Fiorentina in Serie A Draw

US Lecce came from behind to claim a valuable 1–1 draw against ACF Fiorentina in Serie A on Matchday 33, with Tiago Gabriel cancelling out Jack Harrison’s first-half strike.

The visitors were dealt an early setback when Robin Gosens had to be replaced by Luís Balbo Vieira after just 11 minutes, prompting a reshuffle down the flank. Despite the change, Fiorentina maintained their advantage into the break.

Lecce turned to their bench shortly before the hour mark, introducing Lameck Banda, Omri Gandelman and Nikola Štulić in a triple change between the 56th and 57th minutes. The increased attacking intent eventually paid off. In the 71st minute, Tiago Gabriel struck the equaliser, finishing from an assist by Antonino Gallo to level the score at 1–1.

The match grew increasingly tense after the goal. Santiago Pierotti picked up a yellow card for Lecce on 62 minutes, followed by bookings for Tiago Gabriel and a flurry of Fiorentina cautions late on. Goalkeeper David De Gea, Marin Pongračić, Jacopo Fazzini and substitute Manor Solomon were all shown yellow cards for the visitors between the 76th and 90th minutes.

Fiorentina made an attacking switch on the hour as Manor Solomon replaced Albert Guðmundsson, while a triple substitution in the 80th minute saw Marco Brescianini, Giovanni Fabbian and Jacopo Fazzini all introduced. Lecce responded with a late defensive tweak, bringing on Corrie Ndaba for Gallo on 85 minutes to help see out the point.
