RC Deportivo Fight Back to Beat Mirandés 3–1 in Segunda División Clash
RC Deportivo La Coruña produced a strong second-half comeback to see off CD Mirandés 3–1 on matchday 36 of the Segunda División on 20 April 2026.
The visitors struck first shortly before the interval. In the 42nd minute, Carlos Fernández converted from the penalty spot to give Mirandés a 1–0 lead. Deportivo also picked up two bookings before the break, with Álvaro Fernández cautioned on 40 minutes and Lucas Noubi shown yellow in first-half stoppage time.
Deportivo responded quickly after the restart. In the 51st minute, Mario Soriano levelled the score at 1–1 with a regular-play goal, finishing a move set up by Adrià Altimira. The turnaround was complete seven minutes later when Peke scored from the penalty spot in the 58th minute to put the home side 2–1 up.
Mirandés began to show their frustration, as Coarasa, Nikola Maraš, Hugo Novoa and later Siren Diao all received yellow cards in the second half. Deportivo capitalised on their momentum in the 71st minute when Nsongo Tonfack extended the lead to 3–1, finishing a move assisted by Peke.
Both coaches turned to their benches in the closing stages. Deportivo introduced Stoichkov, Diego Villares, José Ángel, Zakaria Eddahchouri and Cristian Herrera, while Mirandés brought on Ali Houary, Pablo Pérez, Siren Diao and Aarón. No further goals were scored after Tonfack’s strike.
With this comeback victory, Deportivo claimed all three points at home against Mirandés in the regular season. Detailed data on lineups, attendance, and other match statistics were not available at the time of writing.
