Paredes Penalty Delivers Superclásico Win for Boca Over River
CA Boca Juniors edged arch-rivals CA River Plate 1–0 in a tense Superclásico in the Liga Profesional Apertura, thanks to a calmly taken penalty by Leandro Paredes deep into first-half stoppage time.
The match, played on matchday 15 of the Apertura, was ultimately decided in the 45th minute plus six, when Boca were awarded a spot-kick and Paredes converted to put the visitors 1–0 up. The goal stood as the only strike of the game, sending Boca home with a crucial derby victory.
