Ten-Man Hull City Hold Leicester in Four-Goal Championship Thriller

Leicester City FC were pegged back to a 2–2 draw by Hull City AFC in a lively Championship encounter on matchday 44, as the visitors recovered from a second-half deficit despite going down to ten men.

Hull struck first on 18 minutes when Liam Millar opened the scoring, giving the visitors an early advantage and leaving Leicester chasing the game heading into the break.

The hosts turned the match on its head shortly after half-time. Jordan James converted a penalty in the 52nd minute to level the scores, before Luke Thomas completed a rapid turnaround just two minutes later. Thomas finished from close range after being set up by Bobby Reid, putting Leicester 2–1 in front.

Hull’s task became even harder just after the hour mark. Sergej Jakirović received a yellow card in the 53rd minute and was then shown a second booking in the 55th minute, resulting in a red card and leaving the visitors with ten men for the final third of the game.

Despite the numerical disadvantage, Hull found a response. In the 63rd minute, Oliver McBurnie struck to make it 2–2, finishing off a move created by Millar, who added an assist to his earlier goal.

Both managers turned to their benches in search of a winner, with Leicester introducing Harry Winks, Aaron Ramsey, Stephy Mavididi, Jordan Ayew and Hamza Choudhury, while Hull brought on Lewis Koumas, Yu Hirakawa, Regan Slater, Kyle Joseph and Paddy McNair. However, neither side could find a decisive third goal.

The closing stages were punctuated by further bookings for Oliver Skipp, Ivor Pandur and Winks as tensions rose, but the scoreline remained unchanged.

Leicester and Hull each take a point from a contest that swung repeatedly in momentum. More detailed statistical data, such as possession figures and shot counts, was not available at the time of writing.
