Hermoso Cancels Out Krstović as Roma and Atalanta Share the Points

AS Roma and Atalanta BC played out a 1–1 draw on Serie A matchday 33, with both goals arriving before the interval in a tightly contested clash in Rome on 18 April 2026.

Atalanta struck first in the 12th minute. Nikola Krstović finished off a move created by Marten de Roon, whose assist set up the forward to give the visitors a 1–0 lead. Roma needed time to respond but eventually found their equaliser just before half-time.

In the 45th minute, centre-back Mario Hermoso pushed Roma level, converting after good work from Devyne Rensch, who provided the assist to make it 1–1 heading into the break.

Atalanta made a triple substitution at half-time, introducing Nicola Zalewski, Odilon Kossounou and Honest Ahanor for Charles De Ketelaere, Giorgio Scalvini and Sead Kolašinac. Raoul Bellanova was later replaced by Lorenzo Bernasconi in the 54th minute as the visitors continued to refresh their side.

Roma responded with a triple change of their own on the hour mark, sending on Daniele Ghilardi, Niccolo Pisilli and Lorenzo Venturino for Gianluca Mancini, Neil El Aynaoui and Stephan El Shaarawy. Further changes followed, with Robinio Vaz replacing Matias Soule on 71 minutes and Kostas Tsimikas coming on for Rensch in the 78th minute. Atalanta’s final switch saw Mario Pašalić replace Éderson in the 80th minute.

The second half was competitive but produced no further goals. Éderson (65′), Pisilli (75′) and Berat Djimsiti (90′) received yellow cards as the game became increasingly combative in midfield and defence.
