The hosts began to reshape their side early in the second half. Kolja Oudenne and Husseyn Chakroun were introduced on 62 minutes, followed by a double switch in the 71st minute as Hayate Matsuda and Mustapha Bundu entered the fray. Those changes eventually turned the momentum in Hannover’s favour.

In the 78th minute, Hannover found their breakthrough. Bundu made an immediate impact, providing the assist for Källman, who levelled the match at 1-1 with a composed finish. The goal rewarded Hannover’s growing pressure in the closing stages.
