Ghedjemis Brace Turns Modena Lead into Vital Frosinone Win in Serie B

Farés Ghedjemis delivered a decisive second-half brace as Frosinone Calcio overturned a half-time deficit to beat Modena FC 2018 2–1 in Serie B action on matchday 35.

Modena went in front shortly before the interval. In the 41st minute, Yanis Massolin finished a move created by Luca Zanimacchia, whose assist set up the opening goal to make it 1–0 for the hosts. That strike separated the sides at the break after a first half that also saw a booking for Modena forward Manuel De Luca on 29 minutes and a Frosinone change as Jèrèmy Oyono replaced Gabriele Bracaglia as early as the seventh minute.

Frosinone responded strongly after the restart. On 52 minutes, Ghedjemis levelled the match at 1–1, finishing a move supplied by Giorgi Kvernadze. Just eight minutes later, the forward struck again, this time without an assist recorded, completing the comeback in the 60th minute to give the visitors a 2–1 lead they would not relinquish.

Both coaches turned to their benches as the match wore on. Modena introduced Samuel Wiafe at half-time and later brought on Pedro Mendes, Antonio Imputato, Matteo Cotali and Edoardo Colpo in search of an equaliser. Frosinone, meanwhile, made several changes, including the introductions of Gabriele Calvani, Ben Lhassine Kone, Massimo Zilli and Jacopo Gelli.

The contest grew increasingly tense in the final stages, reflected in a flurry of yellow cards. Frosinone’s Giorgio Cittadini, Ghedjemis, Kvernadze and Calvani all entered the referee’s book, while Modena saw cautions for De Luca, Colpo and Simone Santoro.

With this 2–1 away win, Frosinone claim all three points from a closely contested fixture. More detailed match statistics, including possession and shots, were not available at the time of writing.
